Alledged sources were telling Star Magazine that Mariah Carey was ready to throw in the towel with American Idol because of her ongoing fued with fellow judge, Nicki Minaj. The sources said that Carey told Idol executives Minaj is, "mentally unstable and a threat" and that she would have no reservations about quitting the show if Minaj didn't calm down. Other sources are saying that these reports are not true and Carey has no plans of leaving the show. Despite the gossip, lawyers say that Carey would be completely within her rights to walk away but that Fox would be within their rights to sue for damages if she did.
