
Today we remember Philadelphia sports great; Jerome Brown. Twenty years ago on this date Brown died in a car accident in his hometown of Brooksville, Florida. Jerome Brown was a passionate man both on and off the field. The talented defensive tackle was a standout during his time at the University of Miami. He was named as an All-American in 1986 and led the Hurricanes to a National Championship game against Penn State the following year.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Brown with their first round pick in 1987. He would later make two pro-bowls and be named an all-pro tackle while playing alongside Reggie White. Brown was eager to spearhead the '92 season in which the Eagles were a Superbowl favorite. His death left a void in Philadephia that would be felt for years. So, let us remember Jerome Brown today for his spirited passion for life and his undying love for the game.
