Jennifer Hudson has just announced that she will be staring in the NBC hit show “Smash”. For the TV musical’s second season, Hudson will be featured as a Tony award winning Broadway star named Veronica Moore “who has reached her dreams but has paid a price for it” according to NBC’s Chairman of Entertainment Robert Greenblatt. In addition to appearing on “Smash” with fellow American Idol contestant Katherine McPhee, Hudson is planning her nuptials to fiancé David Otunga, preparing to debut her clothing line on the home shopping network QVC, re-recording the hit “Proud Mary” and has just been named to as a inductee into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Rihanna will be adding another acting credit to her resume soon. The “Where Have You Been” singer and “Battleship” actress has just been named as the female lead for Dream Works latest movie “Happy Smekday!” The movie is about friendly aliens who come to earth looking for a hideout from their evil alien counterparts and learn what is like to be human.  Rihanna will play a human girl who befriends a nice alien and takes an intergalactic adventure with him in order to avoid the evil aliens. “Happy Smekday!” is set to be released in late 2014

Just about a month after Tia Mowry announced that she would be leaving the hit TV show "The Game", its been reported that BET has found her replacement. Lauren London has been named the new lead female character for the "The Game" which will begin its six season this fall. London who has played in show and movies like "90210", "ATL", and "Single Ladies" will play a former child star who's Ivy League football star boyfriend is the newest addition to the Sabers. At this time London's co-star, who will fill the void left by Pooch Hall has yet to be named.

Brandy recently tweeted the release date for her latest album Two Eleven. The album titled for the “Departed” signer’s birthday and the death date of her idol and close friend Whitney Houston. When speaking about her album, Norwood told Rap Up TV “It’s just gonna be a different album, but of course expressing the love that I feel now and the struggles and different situations that I’ve gone through in the past.  My music always tends to be the soundtrack to my life and definitely inspired by what I see other people go through as well—gritty, edgy, different.”

While preparing to finish her up coming album Kelly Rowland took a small break to record the song “Summer Dreaming” and shoot the music video for Bacardi. The “Motivation” singer and Bacardi have joined forces in order to celebrate the company’s 150 anniversary. Although the video hasn’t been released yet, they have released the Behind The Scene footage. In the clip we see Kelly in a colorful, beautiful, flowing dress singing, dancing, and partying it up with other guests at a pool party in Barcelona. The summer themed video Rowland’s says, "is all about the celebration.  It’s almost like you’re seeing my dream come to life before your eyes and I wake up and I’m like, ‘I’m really dreaming!’” In addition to filming the video and recording "Summer Dreaming", Kelly will perform at the Bacardi Performance on July 8 in Berlin.
