Just when things were settling down on Sesame Street a second man has accused Kevin Clash, voice of Elmo, of having an illicit relationship with him as a teen. According to a new $5 million lawsuit, Cecil Singleton, now in his 30s, alleges that he and Clash hooked up on a gay phone sex line in 1993 when he was 15 and Kevin was 32. As a result of the newest allegations, Clash resigned on Tuesday. The Sesame Workshop released a statement saying the accusations had become a “distraction.” And on top of this, just yesterday, the first accuser who told his story, then recanted saying the relationship was consensual, decided to take back that statement. He said he was paid to keep quiet and he wanted to give the money back so he can tell the truth. Hopefully this situation will have no effect on Elmo's fame.
