On Drake's recent album "Nothing Was The Same" he has a song called "The Language" that's bringing speculations if Drake was throwing shots back at Kendrick Lamar from his verse on the the song "Control."
"The Language" Lyrics
I don't know why they been lying but yo sh-t is not that inspiring
Bank account statements just look like I'm ready for early retirement
F--k any n--ga that's talkin' that sh-t just to get a reaction
F--k going platinum, I looked at my wrist and it's already platinum
I am the kid with the motor mouth
I am the one that you should worry about
I don't know who you're referring to, who is this n--ga you heard about?
Someone just talking that bullsh--t, someone just gave you the run-around
Ni--as downplaying the money but that's what you do when the money down
I don't waste time putting money down
I just go straight to who got it and buy it in cash
P--sy so good that you gotta come see me on tour and you gotta fly in first class
This has been years in the making, it's all for the city
You know I come right every summer, Cash Money Records forever
I'm always big timing, bi--h, I came up right under Stunna
However, Birdman doesn't believe that his YoungMoney team mate is coming at Kendrick. He recently expresses his thoughts in a interview with RapFix stating,
"Drake do what he do. He really slick with whatever he do. He makes you think. But I didn't think he put no energy into that. Kendrick the homey, I ain't got nothin' but love and respect for Kendrick. Top Dawg is one of my best friends, so I would never want to see us condone that...That ain't what this about...I don't think he went that route, to me."
Though, Birdman does not believe that rappers need to beef with each other,
"That's Hip Hop too, but I don't think we need to do that, because then you have to focus on that individual and we do this for the people. I would never want to see that from none of my team or my teammates."
