There's a lot of attention paid to breast cancer. Rightfully so. One in eight women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. But the truth is Heart Disease kills more more women than all forms of cancer combined.
Here's the problem. Heart attacks present themselves very differently in women than in men. Most women don't notice the symptoms until it's too late.
Today is National Wear Red Day when men and women are encouraged to wear red to support the fight against heart disease in women and to honor not only the survivors of heart disease but to honor the memory of lives lost.
Since the Go Red for Heart Disease movement started just over 10 years ago over 600 thousand women have been saved from heart disease. To find out how women and the men who love them can support the healthy lifestyle that will cut the rate of heart attacks visit heart.org/Philadephia and get the tools, resources and inspiration you need to love your heart.
