All over, there is a school bus driver shortage. People have decided to leave their jobs with the pandemic and now parents are scrambling trying to figure out how to get their kids to school. Well Philly is trying to help parents out. According to NBC 10, with the bust driver shortage, the School District of Philadelphia offering money for parents who can take their own kids to school themselves. Sounds interesting? Well, the district will offer $300 a month for families to take their kids to and from school, as well as $150 a month ($1,500 for the school year) if families choose to drop off their kids in the morning and have a cab or bus service drop them off at home in the afternoon. Yes, there are incentives. You may already know abotu the SEPTA Student Fare Cards for the students who are eligible for bus, van or cab service. But if you want to take advantage of getting paid, you can apply to the Parent Flat Rate Program.
