The FTC Investigate McDonald's McFlurry Machines

How many times have you gone to McDonald's, ordered your food, then decide you want a McFlurry, only to find out the machine is down? How many times have you heard the McFlurry machine was broken? Well, you aren't the only one who has had enough. According to TMZ, the Federal Trade Commission has been called in to find out what is the deal. Yes, now the FTC wants to know why these machines are always messed up. Trust me, we've all heard the jokes and even other competitors have been going in on McDonald's machines. Well one issue may be the cleaning process, which has the machines requiring a nightly automated heat-cleaning cycle that can last up to 4 hours to get rid of the bacteria. But the FTC sent a letter to franchisees earlier this summer. In the letter, obtained by the Wall Street Journal, the agency wants to know how McDonald's reviews suppliers and equipment, including the ice cream machines.
