Black-ish Creator, Kenya Barris, Launches Music Label

Kenya Barris is in these streets making moves. Of course he started working with Netflix after leaving ABC, but decided to walk away from his $100 million deal with Netflx. According to Vulture, he left Netflix because he said he didn't feel his voice was Netflix's voice. He wanted to be edgy and he didn't think Netflix was for that. Even his Black AF show, which was announced that it would be renewed, reversed the decision. However, Kenya confirmed that he will be forming and heading the new BET Studios at ViacomCBS. On top of that new gig, who knew Kenya was into music? According to The Jasmine Brand, Kenya announced his Khalabo Ink Society’s first label, a joint venture with Interscope Records and is called Khalabo Music. And with the label, he has also linked a podcasting with Audible, along with a book deal with Random House and a first-look film deal with Paramount. His resume has definitely gotten a little longer.
