R. Kelly's Top Lawyers Quit Before Federal Case Happens

Poor R. Kelly. He needs representation in his upcoming trial. I know you’re thinking, "but he has lawyers." Not so much anymore. According to TMZ, 2 lead attorneys are out. Attorneys Steven Greenberg and Michael Leonard, and they've been with Kelly for years filed documents late Monday requesting to withdraw from the singer's federal case. They are clashing with members of R. Kelly’s legal team. The crazy thing is his federal trial is coming up. Greenberg and Leonard tell TMZ , "We refused to try a case with lawyers who don’t have the appropriate level of experience and skill because that is not in the client's best interest. It is a shame that lawyers can’t suppress their own egos or self interest and do or act in the client's best interest." It sounds like a crazy situation because the the other lawyers seem like they are looking the other way, saying R. Kelly fired the other two, prior to them filing the documents. It’s sad for R. Kelly.
