Major League Sports Postpone Games To Protest Jacob Blake's Shooting

Just as sports kick off again after being on pause because of the pandemic, players are still aware of what's going on with social injustices. Remember Colin Kaepernick? Yeah, he took a stand but he wasn't heavily supported at that time. Within the pandemic, there have been several cases of black people being killed by the hands of cops. People are tired of it. Not just everyday people who may have known those victims, but celebrities are fed up as well. The NBA playoffs are going on but players, like the Milwaukee Bucks decided to postpone the game in support of protesting for Jacob Blake, the man who was shot 7 times in the back by a cop. Soon after the Bucks made their announcement, the NBA and the NBA Players Associated announced that the rest of Wednesday's playoffs games, were also on hold. With that, according to TMZ, the WNBA followed suit and didn't play. But along with basketball, five MLS games were also postponed in support of the protests. Many soccer players wore BLM shirts as well. Also, the MLB had about 3 games canceled as well, according to The Washington Post. This makes me feel proud because people are speaking up more and more and with platforms like this, we hope the message can be heard louder.
