Let's be honest here, a lot of these award shows that come at us at the beginning of the year, rarely represent black people. And while some awards show will nominate a few black movies, actors, singers, etc, there may be a handful. Well one award show that is for us is the NAACP Image awards. The awards show will air live on Feb. 22 on BET. So who is on the list? Some of our favorites like Angela Bassett, Billy Porter, Lizzo and Regina King are on the list. Regina and Angela were nominated for actress in a drama series for their roles on HBO's "Watchmen" and Fox's "9-1-1." And if you watch Billy Porter, then you already know he is up for actor in a drama series for FX's "Pose." Beyonce is the one who had the most nominations with 8 nods in several categories, while Lizzo got 6 nominations. Make sure you tune in to check out the awards show!
